Marsden Maritime North Port

Deep Water Port & Roading Infrastructure.

Whangarei Harbour is New Zealand’s northernmost deep-water port. Located at the entrance to Whangarei Harbour, Northport is a natural deep water commercial port. Northport has been used primarily for the export of Northland’s forest products, however the terminal’s multi-purpose facility caters for a wide range of cargoes and vessel types. Northport is currently operating on 48ha with 570 metres of berth, the facility has capacity to expand to 70ha and up to 1.4 kilometres of berth.

Marsden Maritime Holdings’ land is connected to New Zealand via quality roading infrastructure. Located only 1 hour 30 minutes’ drive from the Auckland region and a short 30 minute drive to Whangarei, Marsden Cove is the ideal location for a growing business. State Highway 15A provides a high quality 8km link to State Highway 1, the same route is set to hold Northland’s upcoming KiwiRail expansion from Oakleigh to Marsden Cove.

Connectivity.

Our prime port land has high speed fibre connectivity, delivering bandwidth and reliability to run your business efficiently and effectively. The Hawaiki Data Cable comes ashore just south of Marsden Cove at Mangawhai, enabling high speed connectivity between New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific Islands and the U.S.

Utilities.

Water and waste treatment facilities at the Greater Marsden Cove Area have been designed to accommodate the development of industrial zoned land. 220kv electricity reticulation lines supply Marsden Cove from the national grid before being distributed via 11kv and 400v lines. Approximately 80% of power is sourced from renewable sources. An upgrade to geothermal electricity generation at Ngawha will triple its output to up to 75MW by late 2020 allowing for an additional renewable energy source.
